Held each spring in late May, the Washington State High School Tennis Championships are typically a two-day event, held at various locations throughout Washington, depending on the Division and the year.
The various Washington High School Districts within each Division are given a certain number of entries to Boys and Girls singles and Boys and Girls doubles. State qualifiers are decided via District (and, in some cases, preliminary Sub-District) playoffs that typically happen at the end of the regular High School tennis season.
In a few cases where a Sub-District's Boys (or Girls) tennis season is in the fall but other schools in the District compete in the spring, there can be a six month delay between Sub-Districts and Districts. Similarly, Districts who have a fall tennis season determine their State qualifiers in late October to compete at the State Championships the following May.
