USTA PNW publishes a resource page for junior competitors that has a ton of information about tournaments, ratings, team tennis, etc. In order to compete in USTA-sanctioned tournaments (and non-sanctioned tournaments that are running using the USTA's tournament software), athletes must have a USTA membership #. Juniors can obtain a USTA # for free here. This # is then used to track a player's sanctioned tournament results and points accumulated. Ratings and points can impact eligibility for some of the intermediate and advanced USTA-sanctioned tournaments. USTA Junior tournaments are organized based on age groups - 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U (18 and Under).
The USTA PNW Competition Calendar for 2025 USTA-sanctioned tournaments is embedded below. There are various tabs depending on the level of tournament. The lower the level (ie L2), the more advanced the competition is. Juniors generally must accumulate ranking points from playing beginner/intermediate level tournaments (L6/L7) in order to qualify for the more advanced level tournaments. The L6/L7 tournaments are typically filled on a first come, first served basis. For L5-L2 tournaments, there is typically a maximum # of spots per category and admission is based on point standings, irrespective of date of registration. "Open" means players from other USTA sections may enter, whereas "Closed" means that only PNW juniors may compete.
In addition to USTA sanctioned junior tournaments, there are also a number of local tournaments that use the USTA software to run their events but are not USTA sanctioned (meaning the results don't qualify for USTA points). These tournaments can be found by searching the USTA junior tournament listings.
